An Enchanted Childhood Playschool~ May 2nd-6th

Another week of our artist study.  This week we studied Mary Cassatt, reading Quiet Time with Cassatt.  She is my favorite artist, so I was excited to introduce the children to her.  She loved painting babies and children, which appealed to our children. We colored copies of two of her paintings-- "The Boating Party" and "The Child's Bath".

One day the children did a Resistance Painting, using clear crayons to draw on their paper and then painting over the entire paper with watercolors.

On Friday the children made "Handprint Bouquets" for their mamas for Mothers' Day.

The most wonder-full part of the whole week was playing outside each day!  Nature walks, tossing buttercups in the creek, digging in the garden, feeding the chickens, even climbing a waterfall were all a part of what made this week wonder-filled!

  1. I think I'm going to do the crayon and paint thing with my boy this afternoon. Loving your hand flower bouquet.
